Earthquake Update from Sentara Potomac Hospital

4:40 p.m.

At Sentara Potomac Hospital no patients or staff were injured.

All buildings have been inspected and deemed structurally sound.

Utilities, cell phone and internet service are operational.

The hospital has returned to regular operations.

At 1:50 p.m. today a magnitude 5.9 earthquake, with epicenter at Mineral, Virginia, near Richmond, was felt from North Carolina to New York.

At Sentara Potomac Hospital no patients or staff were injured.

There is no visible structural damage. Maintenance is in the process of making a complete facility assessment.

Utilities, cell phone and internet service are operational.

All non-emergency procedures have been postponed as a precaution.

We are also in communication with the Regional Hospital Command Center.
